\"Pastor-Murphy_322x471\"<\/a>Dr. Murphy is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and a graduate of its public school system. After becoming a Christian in April of 1976, he acknowledged his calling into the gospel ministry in 1982. After being licensed to preach in 1982, ordained in 1983, he began and continues his journey of academic preparation for the gospel ministry. His credentials are the following:<\/p>\n

\n–<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Master of Theology, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary
\n–<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Doctor of Philosophy, Graduate Theological Foundation\/Oxford University
\n–<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Doctor of Ministry, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
\n–<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Doctor of Ministry \u2013 Candidate, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School<\/p>\n

The ministry has provided Dr. Murphy the opportunity to serve in various capacities including associate minister at Third Baptist Church in Alexandria; Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Roxboro, NC; First Mount Zion Baptist Church of Dumfries, Va; Pastor of the River Zion Baptist Church of Blanch, North Carolina; and Vice Moderator of the Cedar Grove Baptist Association. Presently, Dr. Murphy serves as Pastor of Greater Little Zion Baptist Church in Fairfax, VA, since 1999. \u00a0He is married to the former Barbara Ann Thorpe and they are the proud parents of two children, LaTasha Monique and Ethan Lamar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
